Prior to joining Quatrro Legal, Howard was a national
partner of Pepper Hamilton & Scheetz, Assistant General
Counsel for Chrysler Corporation during the Iacocca
era and Vice-President & General Counsel for Acustar,
a $4 billion automotive parts subsidiary. He also
worked in New York, London, England and Hong Kong,
China with Coudert Brothers and Union Carbide Corporation.
Howard is a graduate of Northwestern University and
Columbia Law School and has done post graduate study
at the London School of Economics (London, England),
Institute de Droit Compare (Strasbourg, France) and
CIDOC (Cuernavaca, Mexico).
He specialized in corporate, mergers & acquisitions
and international legal matters. He has been involved
in transactions in over 90 countries, including the
first American joint venture in China, the acquisition
of American Motors and the largest Japanese American
joint venture at the time, Diamond Star Motors.
Howard has been President of the:
- International Business Forum in Detroit, Michigan;
- Columbia Club of Michigan; and
- French American Chamber of Commerce in Michigan.
He has also served as Chair of the International Law
Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He has been a
member of the :
- Executive Committee of the American Society of
International Law;
- Executive Council of the American Branch of the
International Law Association;
- International Business Council of the Greater
Detroit Chamber of Commerce; and
- Michigan District Export Council.
The Detroit Chamber named Howard
as "Exporter of the Year for 2002". He is also a frequent
lecturer on international legal issues, and was Co-Editor
of the ABA Guide to Foreign Law Firms and the
International Practitioner's Notebook. He is
licensed to practice law in New York & Michigan, as
well as several US federal courts, including the Supreme
Court of the United States. |
